valentine’s day is coming up have some really bad neutral milk hotel valentines

(i’m pretty sure the one on the right is annie’s joke)

i’m nice and i love you guys and i love neutral milk hotel and ‘tis the season to spread the neutral milk hotel cheer so here are some of my favorite unreleased tapes/live shows

• Beauty (1992) - complete with some beautiful commentary on the songs
• Hype City Soundtrack (1993) - mostly including this because the song Los Angeles is hilarious and features Jeff being absolutely ridiculous
• Live at King’s Arms, Auckland, New Zealand (2001) - this is my favorite nmh live show. It’s one of the few shows Jeff played in the 2000s and he talks about his nervous breakdown and says some beautiful stuff and sings some beautiful songs and i loooove jeff i love him
• Live at Aquarius Records, San Francisco, CA (1996) - short but very good set, including one of my favorite nmh songs, oh sister. also includes jeff interrupting a song to go to the bathroom. i love him.
• Shannon’s Monroe House Demos & The 2nd Unknown Demo - both really solid tapes with songs that weren’t really played at live shows

this is just a selection but i have a shit ton of work. i’ll do more when i have more time
